Pumping keeps your system working most of the time. But when the tank cracks, the baffles fail, the lid freezes shut in winter, or the drain field stops absorbing, pumping alone will not fix it. That is when you need repair work. We handle all of it: cracked tanks, damaged baffles, frozen lines, drain field failure, and root intrusion.
Freeze damage. Ohio winters are brutal on septic systems. Frost heave lifts tanks and cracks lids. Frozen ground prevents drainage. Pipes freeze solid. When thaw comes, systems fail or overflow. We repair cracked lids, thaw frozen lines, and assess freeze damage.
Cracked or deteriorated tanks. Older tanks from the 1960s-70s may have cracks that leak or allow groundwater in. Small cracks can be sealed. Large structural damage requires tank replacement. We assess severity and advise on repair versus replacement.
Damaged baffles. Inlet and outlet baffles inside the tank direct flow and prevent solids from escaping into the drain field. Corrosion or collapse of baffles causes solids to reach the drain field and clog it. We replace damaged baffles to restore proper tank function.
Drain field failure. When a drain field stops absorbing, water backs up or pools in the yard. Causes include years of solids overflow, high water table, compacted soil, tree roots, or clay that never percolated well. We assess field condition and discuss options: resting the field, replacing it, or installing an alternative system.
Root intrusion. Tree roots from nearby oaks or maples can penetrate pipes and clog lines. We clear roots mechanically or chemically and advise on long-term solutions, like rerouting lines away from problem trees.
Properties near Paint Creek or in areas with naturally high water tables often struggle with drain fields. A high water table means the drain field cannot absorb properly. We assess whether raising the tank, resting the field, or installing a raised mound system makes sense. Not all properties can support conventional drain fields. We know the solutions.

Sometimes repair makes sense. Sometimes replacement is the only option. We inspect, assess damage, and give you honest guidance. A sealed crack on an otherwise sound tank is a repair.
